    Denver International Airport (DEN): Approximate driving time is 2 hours and distance is 105 miles.

    Driving directions from Denver International Airport: Exit the airport on Pena Blvd and continue south for about 10 miles. Take Exit 1A / I-70W. Proceed west on I-70 for about 82 miles. Take Exit 203 / CO-9S / Breckenridge / Frisco. At the end of the exit ramp, enter the roundabout, and then take the fourth exit onto N Summit Blvd, which crosses over the interstate and becomes CO-9. Proceed south on CO-9 for about 10 miles. Once in Breckenridge, CO-9 becomes Main St. Continue on Main St toward the south end of Breckenridge, and then turn right onto South Park Ave. Proceed about one block and then turn left into the round circular drive to guest registration and parking.

    Airport shuttles and rental cars are the most popular ways of getting from the airport to the hotel. From the Denver airport to Breckenridge, the winter shuttle schedule has 15 hourly departures per day, and the summer schedule has nine hourly departures per day. One-way shuttle fares are more than $36, and advance reservations are suggested. Fee subject to change without notice. Car rentals are available online. Winter driving conditions can be hazardous, which makes the shuttles an especially popular choice.

    Getting around: Breckenridge is compact and pedestrian-friendly, so walking is a popular and convenient way of getting around town year round. Upon request, the hotel courtesy shuttle transports guests point-to-point anywhere in Breckenridge. One block from the hotel is Main St Station, where guests can catch any of several free transportation systems, including the town trolley, buses to other ski areas, and the county-wide Summit Stage. Summit Stage buses depart regularly from Main St Station and many other key locations throughout the county year round. Buses have ski/snowboard racks in the winter and bike racks in the summer. Taxis are also available. Convenient alternative transportation makes renting a car necessary only for travel to outlying areas.

    Breckenridge Cattle & Fish Company - Lunch and dinner are served at this romantic restaurant, which overlooks Maggie Pond and mountain peaks. The menu includes steaks and seafood, handmade desserts, and an extensive wine and spirits list. Reservations recommended.

    Café Breck - Breakfast--including a buffet with a custom waffle and omelet station--and lunch are served at this casual restaurant. The lunch menu includes sandwiches, salads, and pasta. Children’s menu is a long list of kid pleasers such as French toast and pancakes at breakfast, and sandwiches, burgers, and quesadillas at lunch.

    Park Avenue Pub - Dinner, drinks, appetizers, and late-night snacks are available at this bar, which is smoke-free but offers a smoking lounge next door. Pub bites include an antipasto plate, baked Brie, chicken wings, and Dove ice cream bars.

    The Maggie - Lunch and après ski meals—think burgers, fries, and beer—are served at this winter-only restaurant with ski-in/ski-out access to the Quicksilver Super6 chairlift. It has a large-screen television, and outdoor seating on sunny days.

    What to expect: This aptly named resort—1 half-block off Main Street at the base of Peak 9—is a village unto itself, with shops, restaurants, and accommodations that include hotel rooms, studios, and condos. Ample event space (30,000 square feet) makes it a popular choice for family vacations, reunions, group ski trips, business meetings, and weddings.

    Amenity highlights: Guests unwind in the indoor/outdoor pool or in one of eight spas. Maggie Pond offers ice-skating in winter, and paddleboat fun during summer. The resort has a ski school, medical center, and a pedestrian plaza with gift and gear shops. Its two restaurants and smoke-free pub are open year round. During ski season, The Maggie offers quick meals and après ski libations.

    Insider tip: Among Breckenridge's many summer diversions is the Alpine Superslide. Riders sled down the mountain on three tracks that range in challenge level for children and adults. Other park features: Superputt miniature golf and the “Amaze’n Breckenridge,” a vast maze.

    The resort features two restaurants and a smoke-free pub, and a pedestrian plaza with children’s arcade, and mountain gear and gift shops surrounding Maggie Pond, where a floating stage is available for weddings in summer.

    Golf is played at the Breckenridge Golf Course, a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed municipal course; Keystone Ranch and The River Course at Keystone, approximately 7 miles east of Breckenridge; Copper Creek, a championship golf course at Copper Mountain; and The Raven Golf Course at Three Peaks in Silverthorne.

    Activities at the Dillon Dam Recreation Area, 10 miles north of Breckenridge, include boating, sailing, camping, canoeing, fishing, and Nordic skiing.
